Hitchcocked

Online hookups; good clean fun – until somebody gets hurt. Though brief, this hot casual-sex encounter stirs up some surprising truths about Internet-dating, love, life… and death. This is the uncut original version of David M. Young’s festival award-winning psychological thriller about an online hookup that ends badly.

This rather clever 2006 film has slightly edgy content and so be warned, it may be uncomfortable for some to watch. But it is worth it, I promise. Hitchcocked makes cheerful use of many Psycho-themed visual cues along with other homages to the great director (notice the pseudonyms of the guys). It’s played at numerous film festivals around the world.

This is a viral video for fashion brand Diesel features porn footage that has been altered with animation so it’s “safe for work”. It’s good for a laugh – the sound effects really help.

The Homosexual Menace

A highly factual 1950s offering useful information on how to avoid the homosexual menace. Or, to put it more accurately, a very amusing satire of nonsense 1950s education films about the dangers of gay men.

I couldn’t find much info about animator Mister Sharp, except that he’s from the UK and this is his website.

Here’s another handy 50s education film about the bizarre world of the bisexual. Or, to put it more truthfully, here’s an amusing animation spoofing both 1950s education films and misconceptions about bisexuals.

So this is an ad. If you look very carefully you’ll notice it’s an ad for skin cream. And it’s German and features Israeli model Michael Lewis.

What can I say? If only more skin care companies would helpfully provide us with naked men in their ads. My god, what a beautiful world that would be.

A beautiful young woman stands beneath a flow of water. Her body is captured in staggered still images that escalate to a climax.

This film is conventional in its beauty ideals but the director has presented his model in a unique and interesting way. I really liked the way it offers a sudden erotic rush towards the end.

Hannah Cohen’s “Baby”

This is the video for Hannah Cohen’s haunting song “Baby”. It features dancer Thibault Lac naked in a variety of poses and moves next to a solid block of ice. The overall effect is mesmerizing and strangely relaxing. The song itself is full of heartache and longing and I think Thibault’s moves echo that. This video also showcases a beautiful masculine body in ways that aren’t necessarily seen as manly.

In an article for Nowness, director Matthu Placek said: “The ice block is the mass of a human, its surface changing throughout the day, solid but vulnerable to its surroundings. Rolling that 600lbs block of ice outside, thrusting it onto the concrete sidewalk and breaking it into a million pieces was the most satisfying thing I have done this year. Truth.

“Nudity on the internet is unavoidable but avoiding nudity (why would anyone want to avoid that?) is achievable on social media. My feeling is, if you don’t want to see someone’s junk, don’t follow them. I don’t believe it is in the platforms’ best interests to judge what is acceptable and what is not acceptable.”

The blurb: To search unexplored, hidden and unusual angles: to go for a quest for what is left unsaid and to put in motion the inner debates.
Dance, as a middleman between I and the world. To search for a jet of truth into improvisations, individuality and freedom through a close collaboration with accomplice performers.
To search for a meaningful beauty.

Folsom Street Fair Extravaganza

Get ready for an all-dancing musical evocation of kink and queerness. This promo video for the 2015 Folsom Street Fair is a little bit like Footloose but with lots of fetish and sex.

The blurb: San Francisco has long pushed culture boundaries, radical self-expression and sexual freedom. Today awash in stories of the changing face of the city and its quickly eroding creative communities, “Folsom Street” joyously celebrates the rich history of diversity that pushes the limits of raw sexuality that make this city the exciting cultural haven that it has always been.

Directed by Aron Kantor and featuring Broadway performer Colin Cunliffe, notorious nightlife promoter Mario Diaz, gender-queer drag queen Grace Towers, and a variety of San Francisco dancers and performers, the film serves as both a metaphor for the Folsom Street Fair and an example of the possibilities of queer community effort and activism.

Proximity IV

This is Four Chambers’ latest and it features two guys! Their “Proximity” series is all about close-ups and trying to capture intimacy without necessarily being explicit.

The blurb: The ‘Proximity’ project uses the triggers of intimacy with the narrow distance between the camera and subject as a starting point. The camera explores the bodies and captures their connection in more intricate detail, highlighting parts commonly overlooked, skin, breath, touch, the atmospheric over the explicit.

The blurb: A story about a girl and an octopus.
Content warning: Some may find this offensive.

So I had a bit of hesitation at putting this video up as it is a bit squicky and could be categorized as beastiality. I’ve made a call to show it because I think it’s a really interesting film that taps in to “tentacle” fantasies which a surprising number of women have. (These also have a fascinating history – see The Dream Of The Fisherman’s Wife). The octopus in question appears to just be a single dead tentacle, carefully photographed to appear to be moving. The shots are simple but there’s a lot of eroticism and sensuality in this film – even if it is a gooey tentacle.

A young couple have a brief, obscure conversation before engaging in sex. We’re then treated to a surreal erotic adventure that explores self image and pleasure.

I found this video on Vimeo but I have almost no information about it – not even a certainty that it was directed by the person who uploaded it, Serg La Fe. I tried to find if it was part of a larger piece or if it had an alternative title but I didn’t get very far. Still, I want to put it up at BD because it’s an engaging short film, beautifully realized. Its images are somewhat unconnected but they do a nice job of giving the viewer an idea of sensation and the experiences the two performers have during sex. The idea of orgasm as a flow of multicoloured paint is well done.

Inanimate Pornography

This is a clever little bit of animation that will make you smile. Chairs, gloves and other everyday objects get a little raunchy – complete with sound effects.

The blurb: Like all good pornography – There is no plot, the acting is terrible, and when you’ve finished watching it you’ll feel mildly ashamed.

The blurb: Just a sexy snippet from my recent shoot with model Isola August. Think of it as “50 Shades of Blackwood.”

This video caught my eye because it steps beyond the usual “model looks hot” videos that photographers seem to like making. This one has a darker tone and a depth of feeling; it creates a charged atmosphere of submission and self-exploration. The images were shot with a Canon 5D using only ambient light and I think the music really suits.

Spanish hip hop group Ludóvico y los Acéfalos gathered together a bunch of their friends in an apartment for the video; some of them didn’t want to show their faces so there’s a focus on bodies. The band said they wanted to talk about sex in a positive way.

espial // tease from Four Chambers on Vimeo.

This Four Chambers video places the camera in the position of voyeur and uses a lot of dirty frames to suggest that the filming is being done in secret without the knowledge of the performers. It all looks fabulously artistic as usual and the couple seem to be having a lovely time of it.

The blurb: es•pi•al (ɪˈspaɪ əl)
n. 1. the act of spying.
2. the act of keeping watch; observation.
3. The fact of being seen or noticed
